Jess&Erics very... iffy...day.

Remember that book, Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day?
Well... it goes like this:

I met a new doctor today. Dr. Angelica graduated from the University of the Phillipines before the UConn and now she's a rheumatologist in NH. She's smart, and she gave me meds. See below.

This is Tramadol. It's good for me. That's why it has lots of "ME"s in the chemical structure. Or something. (This is why Eric is in Chemistry and not me.) Actually Tramadol is a pain killer used for long term pain managment. Dr. Kelly wanted to take me off of it cold turkey after having been on it for 2 years, but Dr.A said there's no reason to be in pain. She'll take over care of my scripts from now on... starting with a script for 4 a day! Wohoo! I'll be human again, me thinks! It will help to have the tramadol while we're waiting for answers. Which, hopefully, will come soon. Dr.A is running some more tests... I'm pretty much out of blood by now.

Which brings us to the next part of our morning. Did I mention my appointment with Dr. A was at 8am? Yeah. And we were out by 9:30. And then we decided, since we were out, we'd just swing over to St.Joes and get the bloodwork done. Thus began the very long, terrible, horrible part of our day...

This is my collection of ER bracelets from since we've been married. The red ones are for medical allergies - IVP dye for me. It's made of shrimp. I got two of these today. Just to get blood drawn you ask? Well...
This is what I remember:
Me: "Ouch."
Nurse: "Oh, sorry did that hurt you? Sorry, sorry."
Me: "It's ok... don't worry abo... woah... I'm kinda dizz...."
(.....)
Eric, who's trying to nap in the waiting room, hears a Code called over the loudspeaker.
He's a good guesser. He knows it's me.
I come around to see 15 people standing over me, pressing into my knees to keep me from falling off the chair, and asking me repeatedly what my name is, to which I of course answer, "Eric, please."
All this leads to me in wheelchair with oxygen, me in hospital bed with EKG pads attached and machines beeping, and me being pumped full of saline. It feels cold in my veins and it's freezing in the hospital even though it's 100 degrees outside. We're both starving. It took me a while to come around but eventually I did and at about 1:30pm they let us go.
We went to Friendlys and ate lots of food.
This is how Eric felt about our morning:

Yes, he's hitting his head on the table. That was the start of our day off.

Now we're going to sit in the airconditioning and do nothing. All day.

G'rents Visit in Slideshow Form

Our time with Grandma and Grandpa Poling was simply incredible. We enjoyed sharing a bit of our lives with them and getting to know them better - a trip to the White Mountains (complete with local treats and long hikes), homemade pizza, and a lot of laughter didn't hurt at all. We'll cherish those moments and always look forward to seeing them again.

Grandma keep tabs on us as we hike along the ridge of Cannon Mountain.

Jess, as I usually look during trips.

Eric, still with his stomach where it belongs at this point, squeezes in on the G'rents photoshoot.

Aren't they cute?
