Hello World

It's been a month and we're way overdue for updates, I know, I know!
Here's what we've been up to:
* Lily Grayce was born on January 19th at 2:08pm weighing 7lbs 11oz and measuring 18.5 inches tall. Grandma Remaly and Daddy were there the whole time.
*Out of town visits from Grandma and Gdog Remaly; Grandee and Opa Schaefer; Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Poling; Great Babci and Great Djiadji Remaly; Aunt Alaina and Aunt Elizabeth; and Aunt Megan.
*Lily's first three doctors appointments - our first full day home, at one week, and at one month. The doctor says Lily is "just thriving" and is very pleased with her growth. At her homecoming appointment Lily weighed 7lbs 1oz (putting her in the 31st precentile) and measured 20.5 inches tall (82%). One month later and she weighed in at 10lbs 1oz (72%) and was 23 inches tall (96%).
*We're exclusively breastfeeding (no formula) but we were able to successfully introduce a bottle and pacifier at 4weeks, which helps give Mommy a break when needed and makes car rides much easier! Daddy gives Lily a bottle every few days, usually first thing in the morning while Mom catches up on sleep.
*Speaking of sleep - we're doing ok! Most nights Lily sleeps for 5 hours, then pulls two 2 hour shifts, then sleeps for 3-5 hours first thing in the morning, but you never know! Last night she was up talking and fussing from 2am until 5:30 when she finally wore herself out. We try to nap when she does so that we can enjoy the time she's awake.
*Despite the expected lack of sleep, we've been doing well, thanks much to the help and support of our friends from Oakwood Community Church. They have showered us with meals, prayers, and lots of loving encouragement. We have also been blessed with lots of prayers and encouragement from our far away friends and churches in Ohio, NJ, and Washington and many others across the nation and the world!
*Our friends at Oakwood threw a fabulous shower for Lily last week, and she and Roma (daughter of our friends Lauren and Matt) were the stars of the show as everyone enjoyed holding them and watching their precious expressions. Roma is three months older than Lily, and it is fun to see them grow and learn together.
*Jess and Lily enjoyed their first "girls night out" at Bunco game night at Oakwood on Friday - it was good for Jess to have some time out and for Eric to have some quiet time and the ladies at Bunco were all too glad to take Lily off Jess' hands for a bit!
*Lily has been showered with gifts, cards, and love from so many - we have a great collection of cute little outfits, stuffed animals, and blankets. Lily is already wearing a lot of 3-6month clothes!
*Lily loves bath time, and always trys to put her face under the water when we rinse her hair. Speaking of hair, she's still got it all and it's getting long in the back! It seems to be getting a bit lighter too. Lily is a wiggle worm and can make her way from one end of her crib to the other pretty quickly. She loves music, lights, shadows, and of course, the livingroom fan. She gets hiccups a lot and is just starting to "talk" more especially just after eating.
One month gone already - and all too fast. We'll try to keep you updated more often as we get back into the swing of things.
Love,
Jess, Eric, and Lily
