12months old!
Lily, you are 12 months old now! Your first trip around the sun is complete - and what a journey it has been.
You came into this world at 7lbs and 19.5 inches, and already you've grown to 20lbs and 30 inches, with a size 5 shoe (at least, yesterday that was accurate!). Your hair has lightened some but your eyes have stayed that grey blue they were when we first looked at you.
You have the best disposition and attitude we could ask for... a keen sense of humor, a love of music, a patience with others, and the fine ability to entertain yourself happily with little. You love hugs, signing, Engine, nursing, Daddy's cereal, and waking up next to us. You like biking, walks with Daddy, playing airplane with Mommy, calling people on the phone (and then being silent), reading books, and playing with friends.
You're not afraid of the camera, of church nursery, or trying new things. You love to mimic, which has made you a fantastic communicator already. At one year old, you know so many words: nurse, more, hungry, eat, cracker, thank you, please, hat, head, love, up, open, tooth, hurt, brush (teeth), where, what, bird, dog, cat, lion (followed by a tiny "roar!"), Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, baby, milk, drink, eye, flower, touch...
You're starting to voice some new words too, to add to Dada, Mama, and cat; cracker, Engine, yes, up, uh-oh, eye, that, hat, and dog.
You are our beautiful little girl, and we love you so much. To which you'd most certainly sign back, "love, love, love." And oh, how much we love that when you do!
Lending a handre
Two of our six hands got to help out on a bit of a service project - repainting the inside and outside of a home! This home belongs to the man who taught Eric's Sunday School at Oakwood (our home church). There were many many folks here helping and they got a ton of work done! Quite a few people stopped to ask me if we were a professional painting crew... no, but we could be... if you provide donuts for the cheerleader:
The team insisted Lily have a donut (for breakfast!) so we let her have one, but she tossed it aside after picking off a few sprinkles. She's more of a bell pepper kind of girl...

More food, please!
Lily loves (attempting to) drink out of "real" cups, and she often licks her plate clean... even if the stuff that was in it is still on her tray...!
(That's tortellini, not playdough; and bibs get removed rather quickly these days.)
Lil vs the MiniWheats
Lily grabbed this box of MiniWheats off the table and went to town... I have spared you the more, um, fun photos of the aftermath, when she decided she had fit all she could in her mouth and it was time to make room for more...
Busch Gardens
Lily and I visited Busch Gardens with some of our friends... the kids enjoyed the train ride. Lots to see:
crazy rides...
Woah, Mom, a Giraffe! (Lily, signing Giraffe)
Yum-nions.
I tried to convince her that these were not for eating...
while Eric ate them in front of her and said "Yum... Good food!"
She wouldn't give it up... still loves her veggies... even the onions!
More January Catchingup
We might not have blizzards... but we do have these. Yuck/Ouch. Picture by Eric because I would not have waited that long before smashing it.
More birthday parties - everybody is turning 1 these days!
And lots of time playing with this toy - mainly with the mailbox part. Lily loves this thing!
Little CopyCat
Lily loves to mimic...
I don't do this... really. Ok, maybe.

1st Bday Sock Hop!
We had a blast at Lily's 1st Birthday Sock Hop! Thanks to so many of our friends and family for joining us!
