The Flood

This is Bapci & Djiadji's (Jess' grandparents) driveway. The river, which seemed almost low the day before, swelled in just a few hours to cover roads, driveways, and highways in the area. Aunt Laura and I (Jess) walked down to take a look. It was amazing to hear the roar of the water and the crack of trees. Thankfully, the storms did not return that night as was expected, and the roads began to clear... but all through Clinton (the nearby town) you could see the results of the water damage and there were still firetrucks everywhere helping with the clean up.
Aunt Laura, walking on the bike path which usually sits high above the side of the driveway.
Just over the bridge the water took over again. An amazing sight.
