Lily, you are ten months old today! It's been a wonderful whirlwind watching you grow - all too fast, and we are so proud of you. You have learned so many things this month: perfecting the pincher grasp, changing hands as you step from one hand hold to another, climbing on boxes to open doors (but thankfully, not opening doorknobs yet!), and pointing and waving! You love to point out your favorite things when we read to you - cats, monkeys, cars, butterflies, dogs, balls...
You love trying new foods, and you'll try anything and everything - though this month you have most enjoyed apples, peppers, tangerines, and Daddy's cereal. You love to say "dada" while you sign "more cracker"! You're signing so much now - change (diapers), friend, cracker, grandma, cat, dog, bird... This month you signed "love" for the first time, and we were so delighted. "I love you," we signed to you, and you signed "love" back... how amazing!
You love to play with your dolls and sometimes your stuffed animals. You talk with them and make them dance and then throw them in the air and yell. It's fantastic watching you play.
A little about you, Lily, at 10 months:
Your favorite bedtime ritual: Mommy singing in Malagasy or Daddy reading a book
Your favorite food: Peppers, with anything that you pick up off the carpet a close second (yuck)
Your favorite snack: Daddy's cereal and ice-water out of your water bottle
Your favorite toy: your dolls from when Mommy was little
Your favorite thing to wear: "jewelry" or anything that goes on your wrist
Your favorite ride: Ergo carrier on Dad's back or your caterpillar trike while barefoot
Your favorite person (besides Mom and Dad): you pretty much like everyone! You are still very fond of your friend R*
Your favorite thing to sign: "love" to Mommy, Daddy, your dolls, and your dog Violet who says, "I love you Lily"
What you're working on: Standing on your own, saying "dog," and catching Engine before he can get away
