We decided to try our hand(s) at canning and made some fantastic (if we don't say so ourselves) salsa, then some pretty amazing mixed berry jam. We did lose one jar of jam to the carpet after Lily reached a bit further than we anticipated but that was the only snag, so it seems we did pretty well! On that note, mason jars and toddlers do not go very well together. They shatter into a million pieces... so buyer beware. We highly suggest making freezer jams in plastic containers if you have a) toddlers with long reaches and propensities for climbing and b) freezer space!
After we did all this canning we found out that we won a Ball canning party and we will be hosting that sometime in the near future (we missed the original party date due to sicknesses). If you're around Tampa and want to learn more, let us know!
