Sorry for the lack of updates... we'll blame it on the storms. We left for our Christmas trip in the middle of the third one, at least 1/3 of the area still without power. We made it to Megan & Georges in Boston wide-eyed and debating turning back, but we had food, water, and lots of blankets. We drove slowly - more by force of the pack than by choice - barely hitting 40 for miles. Just out of Connecticut the roads opened up, the skys cleared, and we were finally in the home stretch. We made it to Bapci and Djiadji's house for dinner. We had a wonderful time visiting and celebrating Christmas time with Jess' grandparents. It was cold outside and ice blanketed everything - but we stayed warm next to the wood stove and helped Djiadji with his puzzle. (Well, Eric did. Jess and Bapci were more entertained by catching up and talking than by little pieces of sky.) While we were there we visited nearby Clinton, known for it's landmark Red Mill, an old grist mill that sits on the bank of the Raritan River. Bapci took us into Flemington to do some shopping, and Djiadji and Eric enjoyed talking football and watching the games. It was great to have a few days to relax, put our feet up, and enjoy time with family.
